A Typical Journey to Des Moines

There is nothing typical about Friendship Force of Greater Des Moines incoming journeys.  Our journeys include day trips and tours, dinners at host homes and special activities geared toward the interest of the ambassadors. For example, we took a group to visit the Iowa farm where Soviet President Khruschev visited in 1959. Other times we rented an historic theater to showcase the talents of Russian ambassadors, visited the German heritage Amana Colonies and attended a Meskwaki Indian Pow Wow.

No matter what the itinerary, your experience while visiting Des Moines will include friendly people who are proud to show off their interesting and vibrant community to their guests.

The maximum number ambassadors we can host is 14 to 18. We happily meet ambassadors at the Des Moines International Airport and transport them to their host homes. No charge, of course!
